Slash’s Top 10 Collaborations: Motorhead, Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop + More
Not many guitarists have as distinct a sound as Slash, who can be easily spotted in songs. It's not fair to refer to him as the guitarist of Guns N' Roses as he's truly adopted a concrete identity of his own throughout his career.
The top hat-wearing guitar hero would go on to form Slash's Snakepit following his departure from GN'R in the mid-'90s, then re-joined some of his former bandmates and Stone Temple Pilots' Scott Weiland to make Velvet Revolver. One of the strongest hard rock acts of the 2000s, the band only released two albums before calling it quits, but Slash wasn't done shredding yet.
For his 2010 solo debut Slash, the guitarist recruited some of the biggest voices in music to collaborate with. He and Alter Bridge's Myles Kennedy had such a strong chemistry that they would go on to release three more albums as Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators.
In 2016, Guns N' Roses reunited for their Not in This Lifetime tour, which saw Slash join with Axl Rose and Duff McKagan together onstage for the first time in 23 years. Since then, he's been touring on and off with both GN'R and the Conspirators and working on new music with both acts as well.
Those are just his own efforts, though. The Les Paul legend has been featured on a plethora of songs by other artists, too. In honor of his 54th birthday today (July 23), here are his top 10 studio collaborations outside of his bands, and a photo gallery of him through the years below.
