Slash Denies Scott Weiland is Back in Velvet Revolver: ‘He’s Out of His Mind’
That Velvet Revolver reunion story from a few hours ago was pretty exciting, right? Well… hold onto that happy feeling, because according to Slash that’s all you’re going to get for a while: “I have absolutely no intention of going back to that.”
During an interview with 93X, the guitarist seemed extremely surprised to hear Weiland talking as if the Velvet Revolver reunion was already taking place, with the singer reportedly already at work with his former bandmates on demos for a third album from the band, and plotting a late 2012 tour.
Except, apparently nobody told Slash, who’s doing the media rounds right now to promote his upcoming solo album ‘Apocalyptic Love.’ “He did not (say that), he’s out of his mind,” he exclaims in a good-natured manner when told of Weiland’s statement.”There’s been a common rumor going around, I know that he’s been positive on that subject.”
He goes on to jokingly say that he’ll check with his former Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver bandmates Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum — “maybe they know something I don’t know” — but that his schedule is booked throughout 2012 with solo dates.
