One of the best decisions I have made in my life was moving my family to a small town.  Last night my youngest daughter Sammie, was cheerleading at the Columbus football game for their last home game of the season.  There is nothing like a small-town football game.  Everyone knows everyone, parents know the students and the teachers know the parents.  I sat by one of the teachers who has taught all of my kids through the years.  He asked about my older kids and how they are doing.

You know the adults or kids who are serving hot dogs and soda.  You know the police who are providing security.  After the game, it's not a mad rush to get out of the parking lot because you stop to visit with your neighbors.  Making that decision to move from Billings to Columbus so many years ago was not that hard.  My oldest married daughter, who is about to become a mom, was only in the 6th grade then.  I like to see the smile on their face when all of my kids proudly say they grew up in a small town.  I love Billings, but a small town has a special place in my heart.
