Styx and former Eagles guitarist Don Felder are going to set up camp in Las Vegas for a series of shows early next year, calling their residency Renegades in the Fast Lane. Shows are scheduled on Jan. 6-7, 11 and 13-14, 2017, exclusively at the Venetian in Las Vegas. Tickets go on sale Friday at venetian.com.

“I’m so excited to be sharing the stage at the Venetian with my good friends Styx," Felder said in a news release. “This is going to be one rocking show in the most rocking city in the U.S."

Styx, who will welcome original bassist Chuck Panozzo for occasional surprise appearances, have created a new set list for this Vegas residency, and also plan a brand-new stage production. Felder appeared with Styx and Foreigner as part of the Soundtrack of Summer tour a couple of years ago.

"I have been an admirer of Don Felder's unique gifts as a guitar player for decades,” Styx co-founder James "JY" Young said. “Finally meeting him and having him on the same bill as us in 2014 was great fun. He’s like a long-lost brother to me."

Styx will release Live at the Orleans Arena on Sept. 2; that show from a July 2014 performance in Las Vegas, included Felder sitting in for "Blue Collar Man." Felder's most recent studio effort, 2012's Road to Forever, also featured contributions by longtime Styx member Tommy Shaw.

“Sharing the stage with Don Felder over the years in various situations has always been a blast, a smile fest, where the joy of playing music is front and center," Shaw said. "That's the way we do it in Styx too, so you can see why we are all so excited to be coming together for our first Las Vegas installation at the Venetian."
