The number of licensed dairies in Montana fell from 144 to 48 since the year 2000. However, the remaining dairies in Big Sky Country continue to produce a mind-blowing amount of milk, most of which is consumed locally.

A Montana rancher found one of his cows been shot with an arrow last week in Powell County. Officials ask anyone with info to call 1-800-TIP-MONT or the Powell County Sheriff's Office at 406-846-2711.

I was out for drive the other day to a small piece of property I owned and just sold.  The cows are out grazing and of course the calves are starting to figure out life.  When you drive by the mature cows, they just stare at you, wondering what your doing in their space...
