You know how you can feel a headache coming on?  A cramp in your foot?  I get that same feeling when my "old man" rant is about to begin.  I feel it coming but I can't stop it!  This weekend we move our clocks forward one hour.  It's called daylight savings time, move your clocks ahead 1 hour.  It happens on Sunday at 2 am but everyone does it Saturday night.  I'm in my late 50's, I know the date of the holidays and plan ahead.  I have known for a week that we move our clocks ahead one hour this weekend and yet, I see nothing but negative crap about how this affects us!  So if you are a marsh mellow, let me give you some comforting facts so you can feel better about this HUGE change in your life.  No need to mention the sources, just snuggle up to your blanket and read off your computer or phone.

  • 50% of parents say the time change affects their children. (really? yes I wanted to run and play for another hour while the sun was up)
  • 29% of parents say it's more difficult to get their children to go to sleep. ( again see my comment above)
  • 35% of people have arrived early or late somewhere because they forgot to change their clock. ( uh hello, if you are to lazy to remember have Alexia change crap)
  • 58% of people take a week to adjust to the time change. ( ya I got nothing there)

Here is my fatherly advice....CLOCKS FORWARD ONE HOUR SATURDAY NIGHT, GO TO BED EARLY BY ONE HOUR. HAVE YOUR KIDS DO SOMETHING OUTSIDE ALL DAY SUNDAY TO WEAR THEM DOWN FOR BEDTIME SUNDAY NIGHT.

Wow! My foot cramp just went away.
