Everybody loves Metallica. The band has sold millions of records and their tours continue to pack giant venues around the globe. Forty-one years after they first hit the stage, fans young and old identify with the music of Metallica. I don't think they've been back to Billings since the 1992 concert at MetraPark. Were you there? Do you remember the setlist?

You can rock your balls off this weekend when the ultimate Metallica tribute band Blistered Earth comes to Billings on Saturday, August 20 at the Thirsty Street Garage. I caught up with drummer Shawn Murphy (aka Lars) today and he said they've always loved playing Billings, recounting fan-filled shows at the Railyard and the Pub Station.

Remember that one time, when Metallica replaced all your stolen equipment?

Blistered Earth once had their tour trailer stolen after a show in Oregon, with thousands of dollars worth of stage gear and instruments inside. Metallica heard about their misfortune (screw you, thieves!) and stepped up to replace their stuff. How cool is that? Read more about that incident HERE. Our sister station 96.3 The Blaze in Missoula caught the interview below.

Blistered Earth, Saturday 8/20 at the Thirsty Street Garage.

Come rock out to your favorite Metallica songs this weekend in Downtown Billings with Blistered Earth. Tickets are affordable. $15 in advance, $20 at the door and you can buy them now HERE. Doors open at 7 pm and it's an all-ages show, but like it once disclaimed on the CD album covers, "Parental discretion is advised."

Metallica Albums Ranked

There are moments of indecision when compiling this gallery of Metallica Albums, Ranked Worst to Best. After all, we really could have had – for the first time ever – a three-way tie for first.
