Would Any Montanan Ever Drive the Tesla Pickup?
After months of speculation on what the Tesla truck is going to look like, the company finally unveiled the pickup yesterday in California. Take a look:
Wow. Elon Musk was not joking when he teased the truck as having a very futuristic "blade runner" look. Image feeding cows or showing up to the construction site in this thing. The "truck" will be available in 3 versions. The entry-level model comes with one electric motor and is two-wheel drive. You can up the power and add four-wheel drive on two of the more powerful versions, available with two or three motors. The three motor version claims you can go from 0 - 60 in 2.9 seconds. Dang.
Tesla is taking pre-orders now, and you can get on the list with at $100, fully refundable deposit. Tesla says they hope to have the trucks rolling off the assembly line by 2021. Would you ever drive one? I don't see them becoming very popular with anyone I know that drives a truck. Time will tell.
