Billings’ Loudest Heavy Metal Band Rocks the Crowne Plaza Hotel

The Hawk studios are located on the 23rd floor of the Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Billings.  Which is both a blessing and a curse.  We have, hands down, the best view of any building in town.  On a clear day, we can see the Beartooth Mountains, the Pryor Mountains and 360 degree views of the Rimrocks. And we meet some interesting in the elevator and lobby, too.

On the other hand, the building will shake on a windy day and the roof leaks whenever it rains.  Lately, the road construction project on 27th Avenue has made it unbearable to walk outside.  Not only has the underground pipe replacement closed down sidewalks and backed up traffic, but the work crews are giving new meaning to the term "heavy metal".

I'm not sure exactly what they're doing down there, but it's difficult to stand outside without almost going deaf.  The volume of their equipment is deafening.  Here's an example of what I'm calling "The Loudest Metal Band in Billings".
