If your workplace is anything like mine, chances are there is at least one person who is sick! Around here there are at least four or five including myself! Yellowstone County Health Officer and RiverStone Health President and CEO, John Felton, says  so far, nearly 450 people in Yellowstone County have been diagnosed with influenza and as in past years, the majority of those cases are in children ages one to 18 years old.

With the increase in flu cases, RiverStone Health and Unified Health Command partners Billings Clinic and St. Vincent Healthcare are implementing visitor restrictions in hospitals. Those restrictions apply to people who are younger than 18 years as well as people experiencing influenza, cold or other respiratory illness symptoms.

To keep from spreading the virus:

  • Stay home from work or school and limiting contact with others if you are experiencing influenza, cold or other respiratory illness symptoms.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze.
  • Avoid close contact with sick people.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth since germs spread this way
  • Get an influenza vaccination.

Hope you all feel better soon!
