Sturgis is only a couple weeks away and hundreds of Hawk rockers will be making the trip to this year's Buffalo Chip Rally.  In addition to a star studded concert line up including: The Cult, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Motley Crue, Alice Cooper, ZZ Top and Cheap Trick, the Buffalo Chip  will also be spotlighting some of the nation's best unsigned bands on their showcase stages.

One of those bands is a group I was lucky to befriend when I lived in Texas last year.  They call themselves the Shotgun Rebels and they kick ass.  They play a sleazy brand of stripped down, bluesy metal that sounds like Guns N Roses meets Skynyrd.

Their singer Lanie Daniels is a bad ass rocker chick who co-founded the band with her husband and guitar player Rex Rogers.  They own a bar in San Angelo, TX called "The Deadhorse".  If you're ever in West Central Texas, the Horse is an awesome rock club.  When they aren't running the bar, they play all over the south with the Rebels, including several stints at the Rocklahoma festival.
