Last year, when MetraPark announced they would be using taxpayer dollars to bring bigger concerts to Billings, I was skeptical. After all, it had been awhile since we had seen a decent classic rock act come to town. However, you have to give MetraPark credit for putting their money where their mouth is.

This year, we'll be lucky enough to see several legendary acts here in the Magic City, including The Eagles, Motley Crue and Alice Cooper, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Blue Oyster Cult and now, the recently announced return of Elton John on Wednesday, October 7th.

That's a marked improvement from last year, when the biggest rock shows in Billings could barely fill the Babcock Theater. And kudos to rock fans in Billings for buying tickets and proving that Billings has a market for more than just country music shows.

Well done, MetraPark. Now keep those rock shows coming.
