First off let me start by saying this survey is complete bullsh*t. Some nerds took some time away from their fetish sites to troll google search results and claim they know what the most popular cocktail in each state is. Read on and see why I think it's B.S...

Cocktail trends have really changed over the past 10 years, I'm pretty sure no one was talking about mixologists or cotton candy-flavored vodka in 2004.  So what drinks have managed to stay popular for the entire decade?

A real estate blog called Estately figured out the most popular cocktail in every state.  And they did it by looking at which cocktails got the most Google searches in each state from 2004 to 2014.

There are some very clear trends.  Cosmopolitans are the most popular in five states in the northeast and NOWHERE ELSE, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

Mint juleps are popular in southern states, and of course, Kentucky.

The only state where mojitos are number one is Florida, sazeracs are only number one in Louisiana, margaritas are only number one in Texas, and mai tais are only number one in Hawaii.

Manhattans are number one in New York, although we're thinking it's possible that's just because people keep Googling places in Manhattan, which skews the numbers.

And for us here in the Big Sky State? Well duh. It's the White Russian! Uh... what?

They came up with White Russian for Montana? Come on! Are they kidding? It's got to be something more manly than that?  I'm going to go pour me a double Jack & Coke...
