How many bass players does it take to change a light bulb?  Just one, but the guitarist has to show how to do it first.

We all know, when it comes to pecking order, the bass player usually comes in after the singer, guitarist and drummer.  However, there are some exceptions to the rule.  Case in point, a website called therichest.com recently released an article ranking the richest bass players in the music industry.  And there are a few legendary classic rock bassists who out earn their bandmates.

Of course, Paul McCartney comes out on top of this list.  They estimate that Sir Paul is worth $1.2 Billion.  Sting and Kiss bassist Gene Simmons are tied for second place, with each worth an estimated $300 million.  Pink Floyd's Roger Waters and U2's Adam Clayton round out the top 5, with an estimated worth of $270 million and $150 million respectively.

Other notable bass players on the list include Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin, former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman and Black Sabbath's Geezer Butler.
