As someone who NEVER has paid for a pet (besides adoption fees and such), I can stay firmly that YOU should also adopt your next pet, rather than buying from a breeder. The pets in our shelters are just as loving and caring and deserve a home that will treat them right.

What pets are available?

Right now, according to the YVAS website, there are 15 dogs and 15 cats, plus working cats, one guinea pig, and one lionhead rabbit.

How do I adopt a pet?

EASY as can be. Click the button below for the application, which takes less than 5 minutes to fill out.

Once you have that handled, know that you must be 18 or older to adopt a pet. The entire process is neatly laid out below.
