Bono’s Daughter Stars in Acclaimed New Movie
There's lots of buzz over the movie 'Enough Said' right now -- partly because it stars the late James Gandolfini in his last big role. And partly because of who plays his daughter -- Eve Hewson, whose real-life father is even more famous: Bono.
Born Memphis Eve Hewson, the 22-year-old is the daughter of the U2 frontman -- whose real name is Paul Hewson, by the way -- and wife Ali. And while 'Enough Said' isn't Eve's first movie role (she co-starred with Sean Penn in 2011's 'This Must Be the Place'), neither one of her parents was happy when she decided to become an actress.
"It's because they know that world, and it's really hard," she told the Irish Independent (via the National Post). "The rejection is awful, the competition is terrifying and you’re constantly up and down. They were like, 'No, no, no, please, no!' I had to really fight for it."
But no matter what profession she chose, she knew she'd have to choose something. “I don’t get handed money — and I never will,” she said. “I have to work! ... [It would] be impossible for any of us to just sit back, relax and be rich. That’s not who we are.”
'Enough Said,' which also stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Toni Collette and Catherine Keener, is in theaters now.
