Fire managers got a look at the Dahl Fire from the air today.  The size of the blaze didn’t change significantly as a result of aerial mapping – it is 18,500 acres.    Q2′s Drew Trafton has been on the scene of the Dahl Fire all day today and talked with him to get the latest.

Fire managers have ordered additional air power to fight area fires.  Orders have been placed for additional heavy air tankers, helicopters, engines, and other suppression resources. The Lewis & Clark hotshot crew arrived today, and orders for additional ground forces are pending.

Meanwhile the Hawk Creek Fire, which is 20-30 miles east of the Dahl Fire near Melstone is estimated at 1500 acres tonight and firefighters have completed fire line along that blaze.
