10 Things Montana Home Buyers Want the Most in a New House
Despite sky-high interest rates and escalating property values, people in Montana are still buying and selling homes. Everybody needs a place to live, right? And while people certainly relocate year-round, Spring kicks off the unofficial "home buying season" in Montana because (let's be honest)... moving in the winter in Montana sucks.
Real estate website Agent Advice recently analyzed national and state-specific Google searches for popular home features and designs. This insight helps reveal what home buyers in Montana are looking for the most (after price and location) when it comes to features offered in a potential home purchase.
1. Solar Panels
More and more Montanans are considering solar as a way to offset ever-rising electricity rates from the monopoly power company that services most of the state.
2. Ceiling Fans
Ceiling fans are so affordable, there's no reason not to include them in a home.
3. Vinyl Flooring
Home buyers like vinyl flooring for a variety of reasons. It looks nice, there is a huge variety of colors and styles to choose from, and it's easy to care for.
4. Stackable Washer & Dryer
Space-saving stackable washer-dryer pairs free up useable square footage in the home.
5. Kitchen Island
Despite national trends teasing the demise of the kitchen island, many Montana home buyers still appreciate their functionality.
6. Quartz Countertops
While spendy, quartz countertops are so nice. It's easy to see why homebuyers appreciate this update in kitchens and bathrooms.
7. Hardwood Flooring
Nothing compares to real wood flooring.
8. Farmhouse Sink
Bigger is usually better when it comes to the kitchen sink and farmhouse-style sinks are a great choice.
9. Granite Countertops
After quartz, granite remains a popular choice for Montana homebuyers.
10. Framed TV
In my experience, most real estate transactions in Montana do not include much for personal belongings. Perhaps buyers and sellers will negotiate on the washer and dryer, a refrigerator, or other appliances, but the home sellers rarely include a fancy new TV, unless it's incorporated into a home theater.
However, these high-end framed TVs are sweet. When you're not watching a show, users can select photos or artwork that is realistically displayed like a framed piece of work.
