Billings Businesses Battle for Prize Packages worth $50k on August 15
Live from the ArtHouse Cinema in downtown Billings, this is Shark Tank.
Okay, the show name is not true. But it is called the Battle of the Plans Business Pitch Competition. 21 entrepreneurs submitted their concepts for new or improving businesses in the Billings Central District. Two phases in March and July included business training courses from the Big Sky Economic Development, and after these preliminary rounds, the party of 21 has been whittled down to the final 12.
These twelve will enter the final contest that operates similarly to Shark Tank. At the ArtHouse, they will try to sell their plans in person to the Selection Committee. Each entrepreneur will present their detailed proposals, answer any questions and defend their ideas in the scrutiny.
The Prize Package Worth $50,000!
And there are two of these prize packages, one for a brand-new business to help get it off the ground, and the other for a current business for expansion.
$40 grand of the prize comes in the form of reimbursable funds to cover expenses such as architectural design fees, city permits, electric and plumbing upgrades, energy efficiency upgrades, storefront appearance and landscaping, and promotional costs.
You are Welcome to see the Show
The Battle of the Plans Pitch Competition will be Thursday, August 15th starting at 8:00 in the morning to 3:30 in the afternoon. The ArtHouse Cinema is located at 109 N 30th Street in downtown Billings. Come witness proposals and displays that work and may inspire your own ideas.
Two of these twelve will have five digits in expense recovery and other capital. What will the other ten receive? From the audience who sits in, they may get some who will want to buy in the near future. So this is really a marketing opportunity for all. And a shopping opportunity for you.
The schedule of business pitches is located at downtownbillings.com. Winners will be announced the last week in August.
