Hurry!! Billings’ Chase Hawks’ Scholarship Applications Due Friday!!

Needing tuition funds for college or trade school?  Know someone who needs the assistance?  The Chase Hawks Memorial Association has up to $10,000 available through the Frank Chesarek Memorial Scholarship Award.  This scholarship is for new high school graduates and current students in higher ed.  Applicants must live and study within 150 miles of Billings, Montana, which means within these counties: Big Horn, Carbon, Fergus, Golden Valley, Musselshell, Park, Petroleum, Rosebud, Stillwater, Sweetgrass, Treasure, Wheatland or Yellowstone.

But There Is Very Little Time!  Deadline Is This Friday, March 29th!

And there's a lot to submit for the application. On top of the filled-out form and school transcripts, a student must provide 2 letters of recommendation from references who are not family and written within the last six 6 months.

Plus, if other scholarships were earned, have to include those with the amounts.

Plus, the applicant must give an essay of up to 1,000 words about themselves.  This write-up could receive favorable attention from the selection committee if it includes the most notable qualities, extra-curricular and volunteer activities, what is the particular field of study or work pursued and why, and the positive impact the scholarship would make towards their goals.  Your writing skills will likely be a factor in consideration, so please proofread the essay.

The committee would like all these materials assembled into one application package.  Please don't send the reference letters separately.  Anything beyond what is requested, just because it seems like a good idea, will not be reviewed.  Submit just what is requested and nothing more.

Scholarship winners will be contacted May 1st.
