You See That Kick? Incredible Fusion Fights in Billings Saturday
Did you see that kick? Yikes.
That was definitely one of the big highlights from the Fusion Fights Saturday night at the Metra in Billings. Plus, Haiden "The Haymaker" Willis with an incredible boxing match victory. Lodine's entry got everybody singing "Sweet Caroline." And, of course, you had Brandon “Berserker” Berkman with huge comeback victory in the MMA fight.
I gotta start out by giving a shout out to Haiden Willis (upper right in the photo above). That young man is our trainer at 9Round Kickboxing in Billings, and he is a great young man. You probably know both his dad Chris and his uncle Corey Willis who are fighters in their own right. Haiden bobbed and weaved and dodged so many punches that the Metra probably didn't even have to run the air conditioning from all that air circulating.
I think I've seen Brandon “Berserker” Berkman pop into 9Round a couple times as well. Of course he and most of the Billings fighters regularly train at The Grindhouse in Billings. That kid can move.
Fusion Fight League described his comeback victory with this: "In dramatic fashion, Brandon Berkman of The Grindhouse, defeated Isidro Rojas of Warrior Camp, by rear naked choke at 1:18 of round 3. It was his 21st birthday, by the way!"
Now, back to the kick I mentioned earlier. That was crazy. I talked with Gage Morsette when I ran into him after the fight. He has a jiu jitsu gym in Columbia Falls, Montana.
Later, I also ran into UFC fighter Marnic Mann and Gage Saunders after the Fusion Fights. Marnic Mann shared this note about Morsette on Facebook, along with the video of the knockout kick.
Here's the kick (and crazy respect to both of these fighters, by the way):
I even got to pop inside the octagon and address the crowd for a second:
