New Music Releases – May 2012
Our May 2012 New Music Releases rundown is highlighted by the long-awaited return of Joe Walsh. The legendary guitarist and songwriter will release ‘Analog Man,’ his first solo album in 20 years.
As you can tell by the title, the record features Joe’s slightly off-kilter and humorous views on all the digital technology that has changed our lives — for better or worse — over the past two decades.
We’ll also see a no less than four Beatles-related reissues, including a look at George Harrison‘s solo demos on the new collection ‘Early Takes Volume 1,’ and the home version of the recent HBO Harrison documentary ‘Living in the Material World.’
Paul McCartney continues his extensive, extras-heavy catalog reissue campaign with a tricked-out version of ‘Ram,’ and last but not least, a fully restored edition of the band’s classic animated film ‘Yellow Submarine’ will be ready on May 29.
In more current news, newly inducted Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Slash will be releasing his second solo album — and first with a solidified band — May 22′s ‘Apocolyptic Love.’ May will also see a bit of the guitarist’s history revisited via vinyl reissues of Guns N’ Roses‘ ‘Use Your Illusion’ albums
