Bad Company Singer Paul Rodgers Confirmed for 2013 ‘Rock Meets Classic’ Orchestra Tour
The lineup for the 2013 Rock Meets Classic tour is taking shape. Famed vocalist Paul Rodgers is the latest superstar to join the cast for the upcoming jaunt through Europe, scheduled for February and March 2013.
The annual ‘Rock Meets Classic’ tour takes a unique approach to live music, shining a light on an all-star cast of classic rock artists from the ’70s and ’80s eras and adding a bit of a twist. Their arsenal of hits are elevated to a whole new level with the backing support of a full rock band (the Mat Sinner Band) and an orchestra (The Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague), for the full ‘Rock Meets Classic’ treatment.
With Paul Rodgers’ deep musical roots, his set will no doubt encompass his time spent fronting the bands Free and Bad Company. A few surprises promised to be thrown into the mix – perhaps even a Queen cover or two? Something from the Firm’s debut album?
Rodgers joins former Journey frontman Steve Augeri and Chris Thompson of Manfred Manns’ Earth Band on the tour’s fourth run, with more artists to be announced in the next few weeks.
The Rock Meets Classic Orchestra Tour from previous years featured artists like Ian Gillan from Deep Purple, Steve Lukather of Toto and Lou Gramm of Foreigner. For a taste of what the tour has to offer watch the video below featuring Gillan, Lukather, Jimi Jamison and more.
