Paul Stanley of Kiss Turns 60; Bandmates Post Their Tributes
Birthday wishes have been pouring in all over the Internet for Paul Stanley today (Jan. 20), on what is the Kiss frontman’s 60th birthday. His bandmates took to KissOnline.com to help celebrate the big day with posts for their fellow Kiss member and friend, who was born in New York on Jan. 20, 1962.
(We’re commemorating the occasion with our biggest readers’ poll ever, giving you the chance to vote for your favorite song from each and every one of the band’s 19 studio albums.)
“Paul, my very best wishes on your birthday,” writes Gene Simmons. “You’re the brother I never had. You’ve always been there. For me. For the band. For the fans.”
“Happy Birthday Paul!” adds lead guitarist Tommy Thayer. “You’re a great friend & a brother in arms … We just made a kick-ass album together and had a great time doing it. You are THE rock & roll champion! Happy 60th!!”
“Paul Stanley, Happy Birthday to the Grand Master of Ceremonies!” raves drummer Eric Singer. “You’re still the best and I wish you only better days ahead…”
Meanwhile, Kiss recently finished recording their forthcoming new album, ‘Monster,’ and in a Twitter note posted yesterday Thayer reveals that the band is working on cover art for the disc. “Heading into town to meet @genesimmons, Paul Stanley, and Eric Singer for album cover photo shoot,” he wrote.
We’re not quite sure what town he was headed into, but we should find out soon enough. No release date for ‘Monster’ has been announced, but in the meantime you can get a taste of what’s in store for Kiss fans by checking out our ‘Monster’ album preview.
