Look, I don't judge. In my opinion what you and/or you and your partner want to watch or do in the privacy of your own home (or wherever it doesn't violate public decency laws) is really none of my - or the governments - business. People have been looking at sexy pictures (followed by video) for centuries. A ScienceMag.org article reported what could be considered the earliest form of pornography discovered, and it's around 30,000 years old.

Clearly humans have been into erotica for, well, forever. Psychologists, sex researches, religious groups and others have long debated whether porn is healthy or not. I'll let you decide that on your own. Any addiction can certainly have consequences. When it comes to porn today, Pornhub is one of the largest purveyors of adult content in the world, with 42 billion visits and 6 million uploads per year. Dang. That's a lot of bad acting and lame scripts.

If it were just bad acting and lame scripts, Pornhub probably wouldn't be facing a petition on Change.org to shut the site down. Here's the problem... and the reason for the petition: child trafficking. The website is absolutely awful when it comes to any sort of age-verification protocols to prevent minors in sexual situations being filmed and uploaded to their website. One Florida man was recently arrested for uploading 58 videos and photos of a missing underage girl.  Not cool, Pornhub. I think we all agree there is no place in the world for the victimization of underage kids.

I don't necessarily agree that the website should be shut down. And honestly, the petition (which has over 300,000 signatures already) will probably have zero impact whatsoever on Pornhubs policies. I 100% agree there needs to be some way for them to verify age and consent for any content uploaded to their site.
