The world is in mourning after the death of actor/comedian Robin Williams on Monday (Aug. 11) from an apparent suicide. According to the Los Angeles Times, sheriff's officials received a call at 11:55AM PT about a man who was unresponsive in his home in Tiburon, Calif. The man was Williams and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Williams, 63, had a celebrated career in the entertainment industry, first as one of the great young comedians of the '70s before moving onto television where he first appeared in a guest role on 'Happy Days' that eventually yielded the popular spin-off 'Mork & Mindy.' From there, Williams went on to star in films like 'Popeye,' 'The World According to Garp' and 'The Best of Times' before showing a more dramatic side in 1987's 'Good Morning Vietnam,' which earned him his first Oscar nomination. Williams eventually won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for 1997's 'Good Will Hunting' after missing out on Oscar-nominated roles in 'The Fisher King' and 'Dead Poet's Society.' The beloved actor was most recently seen on the CBS series 'The Crazy Ones.'
