‘Sunset Strip’ Documentary Featuring Ozzy Osbourne and Slash to Debut on Friday
Ozzy Osbourne, Slash, Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, Mickey Rourke, Tommy Lee and seemingly dozens of other rockers and actors are all featured in a new documentary called ‘Sunset Strip’ that premiers at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas on Friday.
“This is where it all started, you know,” says Osbourne, who along with Cooper and Hugh Hefner provide some historical perspective in the trailer video. The idea is to show the mile and a half stretch in California for all of it’s glory, grime and infamy. There’s clearly plenty of all three.
The stretch of road between Hollywood and Beverly Hills is called both “sacred” and “a place where people come for refuge.” “It is truly a mix of light and dark, sunshine and noir, that is uniquely L.A.,” the description reads at the film’s website. Artists gathered to create, while preferred vices were just a doorway down.
Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum is one of the film’s producers. The film was directed by Hans Fjellestad. Friday’s premiere will take place at the Paramount Theatre at 7PM local time.
