Surprised there aren't more Montana cities on this list.

Fall. Winter. Fall. Winter. 'Tis the dance Montana generally does through the month of October. High elevations in southwest Montana could see up to 10 inches of fresh snow by Tuesday morning...so I guess that means we're back to winter!

The preliminary snowfall totals from this past weekend have been posted, and several areas of Yellowstone County had more than a foot of snow over the weekend, with more expected to accumulate through the week.

Current N.W.S. predictions have Billings in the 40 to 70 percent probability range of getting 4 or more inches of snow accumulation by Thursday.

Western Montana is preparing for what the National Weather Service is calling a "Historic Winter Storm" that's expected to hit this weekend. A Winter Storm Watch will be in effect from 6pm Friday, September 27 through 6pm on Sunday, September 29 for most of the state's western half.

Severe weather is expected to arrive in southeastern Montana tomorrow (6/6) afternoon with the potential for large hail, heavy winds and torrential rain through Friday (6/7).
