The Midway In Billings Gets A Little SOUL From New Management
Yesterday, Cajun Phatty's owner Ashley Robichaux announced on their Facebook Page she has taken on a new business in town... and one that needed a little bit of love and an infusion of SOUL... The Midway on Grand.
Isn't The Midway new?
Yes, it is. The Midway Grill and Brews opened on Grand Avenue in the West Park Promenade way back in... 2021. It was a pandemic-born business, with the goal to bring culture, music, and art to Billings Midtown. Since its opening, they have hosted live music and planned to host other events.
Back in 2021, KTVQ interviewed the owners about the future of the new business, taking over a spot that has hosted a few other restaurants that had been... less than successful.
Big Hopes And A Lot Of Soul
In reading the comments on their Facebook post, it shows that many Billings residents had equally HIGH hopes for The Midway, however, their experience sadly didn't match. The good news... the Cajun Queen (as Ashley has been dubbed by her loyal followers) is on the case.
Cajun Phatty's replied to one curious commenter, who asked:
So are you taking over as their chef or the whole concept of the restaurant?!
The answer? "I am taking over the whole thing." Sounds to me like some soul food is about to infuse into Billings Midtown, and this foodie can't wait. Ashley said they plan to improve the menu, and I assume it'll be a complete overhaul, infusing her knowledge of that sweet Louisiana cuisine into a great location.
