When you hear the song "Call Me the Breeze", you probably think of Lynyrd Skynyrd.  Eric Clapton wants to change that.  The song was originally composed by a criminally underrated songwriter and musician, the late JJ Cale, and was made famous by Skynyrd and a host of other bands.

Up until his death last summer, Cale had written several popular songs for Clapton, including "After Midnight" and "Cocaine".  Now, Slowhand is paying tribute to his old friend and colleague with some help from many other artists who were also inspired by Cale.

"Eric Clapton and Friends:  The Breeze, an Appecriation of JJ Cale" is due out on July 29th and will feature duets with some of the biggest names in rock music, including: Tom Petty, Mark Knopfler, and even Willie Nelson.
