The weather is supposed to get wintery again this weekend. Joy. Not today though, with sunshine and mid 50's, it's pretty awesome out there. Taking advantage of the sunshine, I popped by the car wash today to rinse off my ride.  I use to think it was stupid to wash your car when a storm is coming. Hear me out...

It's not going to get crappy till Sunday. By the time the bad weather hits, my car will be parked in my driveway, clean and covered in snow. The temperatures will be cold enough that by the time I have to drive to work on Monday it won't matter. So I'll get a good 3 to 4 days of having a clean vehicle. That's justifiable washing, my friend.

I prefer to wash my car myself at the "pay and spray" car washes.  Not only is it usually cheaper, but I know if I do it myself, my car will be clean. The car washes with the brushes always seem to leave scratches.  And the brush-less car washes never seem to do a very good job.

The only thing I don't like about the do-it-yourself washes, is when jackasses leave a big mess behind. Like the jerk that was in the wash bay before me today who left a thick layer of red, Wyoming colored mud behind. Thanks dude. Glad I could track that into my car.
