Why Does a 4-Day Week Feel Like a 6-Day Week

Man, three day weekends.  How do we make that happen every week?  I can almost hear the bosses groaning in the background.

Why is it that when you get a three-day weekend the next week at work feels like a mad dash to get as much done as possible?  I mean, it feels like every second counts. How did this happen? Here's to the Tuesday that feels like Monday, I mean the Wednesday that feels like Tuesday.  Oh, forget it.  I'm going to be writing the wrong day all week this week.
