Why Would Someone Get Paid NOT to Speak in Montana? [Opinion]
The former Navy SEAL who is credited with firing the actual shots that killed Osama bin Laden, is going to be paid his $28,000 speaking fee, even though he won't be speaking at the event he was supposed to in Bozeman.
O'Neil was found sleeping at the wheel of a running vehicle while parked at a convenience store in Butte and was charged with a DUI.

So, he won't be speaking. But he's still getting paid? I'm confused. This is taxpayer money. It doesn't appear to me that we should be paying him. If it's the wording in the contract that states that speakers get paid no matter what, then maybe we need to rewrite those contracts.
More wasted taxpayer dollars.
