Billings Gazette Introduces Paid Content on Website
For those of you who get your daily news from the Billings Gazette website, you'll be paying for it soon. The Gazette has implemented a "Online Subscription Plan," which is also known as a "paywall."
If you want to see more than 20 different pages of content in a month on their website, you have to pay for it. You can get the details on the new paywall here. Careful though, it will count as a page view!
Online readers who have a print subscription will receive a deep discount on their digital subscription. For full access, it will cost $1.95 for a 30-day period. Non-subscribers can purchase full access for $6.95 for a 30-day period. Annual subscriptions are deeply discounted — $19.50 a year for print subscribers and $69.50 a year for non-subscribers.
Since commenting on articles counts as a page views, you'll have a limited number of stories you can comment on per month before you have to pay a subscription fee.
Don't worry, our online content will remain free of charge! Will you be paying to use the Gazette's website?
