The Top 5 BEST Accessories For Your Car In A Montana Winter
Being a lifelong Montanan, I know what I need in my car to make sure I get where I'm going. And, I've had every style of vehicle... From a small front-wheel drive car to a V8 4x4 SUV, and now to an All-Wheel Drive SUV. But, just because you have a car designed to take on the winter, doesn't mean you're PREPARED for the winter.
Here are the Top 5 BEST Accessories for inside your car (and outside) in a Montana Winter!
#5: Studded Tires
If you happen to have the misfortune of driving a rear-wheel drive car in the winter, you know that without studded tires... you'll have a rough time going somewhere. But, studded tires work for all vehicles. Just remember to take them off before spring.
#4: Winter Survival Kit
This is something you can build on your own. According to FamilyHandyman.com, you should have things like a Candle-Powered Heater, a Small LED Flashlight, a Notepad & a writing tool, a portable air compressor, basic tools, and much more. It's worth a read to stay safe!
#3: Phone Charger Or Charging Cables
I think these days we ALL have a USB cable in our car, or at least the majority of us do, to charge our phones while driving... or to use CarPlay or Android Auto. But, if you don't, it is recommended to keep a charging cable at all times. That way if your car breaks down, or you slide off the road, you can at least keep your means of communication ready to go.
#2: Jumper Cables
As cars become more high-tech, I've noticed people not having jumper cables. You never know when you will come across someone who needs their car jumped after sitting in 0-degree weather for a day.
#1: Blankets, Gloves, Hat & Scarves
This is my number one because if your car breaks down... and you are a few hours from help, you'll need to stay warm. I keep a pair of boots, gloves, and a beanie in my car all winter long for this reason. Even though my car is new... I still like to be prepared.
